Two
hostile fleets have meet over the surface of a giant star to do battle
for the energy resources contained therein. While the opposing craft
engage each other, the star itself gives off gigantic solar flares, capable
of incinerating a starship in an instant!
One of the fleets deploys
for battle!
The
spaceships dash in and out of the giant arcs of solar energy as torpedoes
and missiles arc across space on their deadly missions! Here, a cruiser
collides with a flare as it tries to avoid enemy fire!
This is just one example
of the virtually endless possibilities you will have when playing Starship!
Solar flares, black holes, meteor showers and more; you are not limited
to the cold darkness of space!
A
deadly EMC Battlecruiser class starship pursues its prey across the red-hot
surface of the star! Although it is difficult to tell from this picture,
the EMC Battlecruiser has launched several squadrons of mecha after the
enemy ship (the small black-looking squares scattered about are actually
cast-miniature squadrons of fighters and mecha)!
With the help of its mecha, the EMC Battlecruiser destroyed the enemy ship!
Two
opposing ships broadside each other at close range as a giant flare arcs
up behind them! This photo also gives a good view of the easy-to-use
Battlepole, capable of contracting and extending to accommodate a variety
of altitudes!
Badly
damaged in the battle, a Heavy Cruiser disengages from the enemy and heads
for home.
Starship! offers a full campaign
system, where players are encouraged to not throw their ships away in senseless
and costly attacks. By withdrawing damaged vessels, they can be repaired
to fight another day, which is less expensive than having to build a new
ship from scratch!
The EMC were defeated,
but they'll be back. . .
