of the ships in our Pirates! line are 25mm/28mm scale, resin cast and, where appropriate,
come with wooden masts, yardarms, and thick paper sails. Most ships come
with one or more pieces of randomly selected ordnance. Ordnance is resin
or metal cast. All ships, ordnance, models, figures, etc., come unpainted
and unassembled.

One of the mightiest ships to sail the seas! Dual masts
help catch the wind to push this monstrous ship through the waters. High
fore- and aft-castles provide vantage points for marines to fire from, sweeping
the decks of lesser ships. Best of all, the Large Galleon can fire a four
guns broadside inflicting critical damage to opponents in a single well-placed
volley! No fleet is complete without one!

Galleon)

The latest of our historical designs, the carrack is
based on some of the larger ship designs of the renaissance and Spanish
Armada eras. A large and stable fighting platform, the carrack was
ideal for carrying large numbers of marines into close combat.

Based on a ship design used from the beginning of the 14th century
through the time of the Spanish Armada, this able vessel sports two masts and
a three gun broadside. While not as powerful as the Hulk, the Galleon
is a good choice for those captains who don't have the gold to purchase the
former, but who still want respectable firepower!

The Galley and other oared vessels ruled the waves for many centuries.
Propelled by two banks of oars, the Galley cuts quickly and nimbly through the
water. Although its ability to deliver ordnance fire is limited to dual
gun ports in the fore-castle, it's main mode of attack is via the deadly ram!
The Galley comes with a square fore-castle (we'll have a round one... eventually...),
depending on the personal tastes of you and your crew.

Coaster, Cat, Bomb Ketch or Junk)

Based on a small 100-ton vessel design used by Dutch Privateers
and Portuguese Buccaneers, the Gunship was meant for close-to-shore actions
where it could bring its fore-mounted cannon to bear on enemy craft! Small,
sleek and highly-maneuverable, the Gunship can fire a single piece of ordnance
in broadside, but its most useful role is in pursuing enemy ships, where its
single front-facing gun can be used to deadly effect!

The Sloop is by far the quickest and most maneuverable of the
sailing ships, capable of tacking close to the wind and able to run close to
shore. This agility combined with a two gun broadside make the Sloop more
menacing a foe than its size would suggest!

For those of you with a fantasy or alternate-history bent, this
boxed set of two small submersibles is just for you! Each of these beautifully
crafted subs comes with a periscope and a submerged/deep marker to indicate

you are ready to spread some terror on the high seas!

The Galleas is the oared version of the Large Galleon. Used
as a floating gun platform by Renaissance captains, this slow-moving vessel
can be devastating in a ram. Considering that it can bring three guns
to bear to the fore, and that it can have a maximum of 45 crew and marines on
board, it is easy to see why they were so critical at defeating the Turks at
Lepanto!

Small Galley, Felluca or Fuste)

A small version of the Galley, the Galliot is the quickest ship
on the high seas! Although it can mount only a single cannon to the fore,
this fast and nimble vessel makes up for a lack of firepower with an uncanny
ability to out maneuver larger ships. Like the Galley, you get your choice
of square or rounded fore-castle when ordering.

(aka Shark)

The Shark patrols the depths of the oceans, using torpedoes to
bring its foes to a watery grave. And, when the Shark surfaces, it can
use a single tower-mounted cannon to blast anything left! Comes with a
medium submersible, periscope and submerged marker, and a cannon for the conning
tower!

Largest of the submersible class, the Orca strikes fear into the
hearts of many a ship's captain! Sporting multiple torpedo tubes and a
turret mounted cannon, this vessel can actually engage surface ships in battle.
Like all of our subs, the Orca comes complete with a periscope and submerged
marker, and a cannon for the turret.

Ships Crews
Our supplier has discontinued carrying these figures, which means
we are no longer carrying them too. You can still get them from the manufacturer,
Redoubt Enterprises, in the UK.
This exciting range features our 25mm ancient ships. First is the Libernian, a fast ship suited for scouting and supporting your larger ships in battle. Next is the Trireme, a large warship that can mount two pieces of ordnance in the bow! After that will be the Quadrireme, and then the Bireme. With this range you can refight all the great naval battles of antiquity, in 25/28mm scale! Best of all, these models are beautiful, with fantastic detail.
PIRATES! ANCIENTS: The rules for fighting ancient naval battles are already included in Pirates 3rd Edition!
THE OAR BANKS: The oars on our ancient ships are cast as separate pieces. The rest under the oar "outriggers" on the ship, and move along with the ship during play. When the ship is not moving, or if you are resolving a ram or boarding action, then you can easily remove an oar bank or two to resolve that action without slowing down play!

The Libernian is a small vesel, capable of carrying 18 figures
(10 above and 8 below deck). While it may not mount ordnance, it's speed
and maneuverability make it a valuable support unit for your fleet, as it can
quickly reinforce troubled positions in you line, or exploit a break through
and turn to strike the enemy from the rear! The Libernian comes in one of four
different prow combinations: Classical; horned; spacious and regal. Matching
random shield walls are also provided.
Product 4801A - The Trireme
Price: $95.00
The Trireme is the latest addition to our ancient ship line. This is a large,
imposing galley with classic lines, giving it a sleek and deadly appearance.
Currently there is only one version, but eventually we will have multiple versions
so that you can recreate the fleets of the various armies of antiquity. This
is a multi-part kit and some modeling skill is required for assembly. Photos
shall be posted as soon as they are available.
